Concrete floor panels that rock can now be stabilized with the SD7 joint saver. The Somero Matson Group has introduced two new sizes, the SD5 and SD6. The SD7 debuted at the world of concrete in 2008 and these additional sizes accommodate a greater range of floor thicknesses. All three sizes have been installed across North America with extraordinary test results.

The Joint-Saver has also proven to work in cold environments after being installed in a parking garage in Raleigh, N.C. The garage was experiencing an extensive amount of movement indicated by the testing with the electronic inclinometer movement in the excess of 0.50”. After the installation of the new smaller size SD5 a test revealed movement less than 0.05" one year later.

Terry Jacob, technical sales representative for the Somero Matson Group has firsthand experience as a certified installer of the SD7 and can attest to the minimal disruption to a manufacturing facility that takes place while the joint savers are being installed. No mess, instant traffic accessibility, and a solid concrete floor. ”It’ is truly amazing” he says.

Following the installation of over 700 SD7 Joint-Savers at a manufacturing facility in Raleigh, N.C, the owner states that he is pleased with the performance with zero movement measured by his engineering group. An epoxy coating was applied after the installation of the SD7 Joint Savers rendering them virtually invisible. On a follow up visit by the Somero Matson Group there was difficulty locating all of the SD7s that had been installed. With the facility in full production and manufacturing machinery applying extreme forces to the concrete floor not one crack was seen in the epoxy coating.

As the number of certified installers across the country has grown so has the interest in the SD-5, 6, and 7 in numerous industries and applications.
